Using the Creatix SO Plug and Play ISDN Adapter with MSN

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to connect to MSN, The Microsoft Network, with a Creatix SO Plug and Play ISDN adapter, you may receive the following error message:

   Modem is busy or cannot be found. Your modem may already be in use,
   turned off or not connected properly.

CAUSE

The Capi 2.0 protocol is not installed. This protocol is included with the Creatix SO Plug and Play ISDN adapter.

RESOLUTION

To install the Creatix SO Plug and Play ISDN adapter and Capi 2.0 protocol, use the following steps:

  1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

  2. Double-click Network.

  3. On the Configuration tab, click Add.

  4. Click Adapter, and then click Add.

  5. Click Have Disk, and then type the path to the Creatix CD-ROM.

  6. Click Creatix SO PnP, and then click OK.

  7. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.

  8. In Control Panel, double-click Network.

  9. On the Configuration tab, click Add,

  10. Click Protocol, and then click Add.

  11. Click Have Disk, type the path to the CSS\Ger folder on the

        Creatix CD-ROM, and then click OK.
    

  12. When you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.

To connect to MSN using the Creatix ISDN adapter, follow these steps:

  1. Double-click the MSN icon on the desktop.

  2. Click Settings.

  3. Click Access Numbers.

  4. Click the "ISDN access to the Internet and MSN" service type, and then click OK.

  5. In Connection Settings, click AcoISDN.

  6. Click OK, and then connect to MSN.
