OL97: Clicking Cut on Edit Menu in Outlook Appears not to Work

SYMPTOMS

When you highlight a document from within Microsoft Outlook 97 and click Cut on the Edit menu, no visible changes occur to indicate that the cut operation was successful. This also happens when you use the right mouse button to click a document, and then click Cut on the shortcut menu.

Although you can still see the item, the item has actually been moved to the Clipboard and will be removed once you have completed the paste operation into another folder.
