How To Exit Softimage 3D (IRIX) When Exit Command Does Not Work

SUMMARY

If you are unable to terminate a Softimage 3D session by the conventional method (choosing the Exit command), it is then necessary to kill the soft process in order to shut down the program.

The information in this procedure shows you how to shut down Softimage 3D from an IRIX shell.

Killing soft On IRIX

  1. Press Alt-F9 to decrease the size of the Softimage 3D window.

  2. Open a winterm shell and enter the command: killall soft.

    The Softimage 3D icon disappears from your screen.
