How To Close a Frozen Dialog box Using an Alternate Method

SUMMARY

The information contained in this article provides an alternate method for closing a Softimage 3D dialog box that is frozen.

MORE INFORMATION

If you are unable to you close a Softimage 3D dialog box by clicking OK, Cancel, or Exit, press the Escape key on your keyboard. This closes the box and allows you to continue working on your model. However, if this does not work, it is necessary to terminate the soft process in order to exit the window.

Killing soft On IRIX

  1. Press Alt-F9 to decrease the size of the Softimage 3D window.

  2. Open a winterm shell and enter the command: killall soft.

    The Softimage 3D icon disappears from your screen.

Killing soft On Windows NT

  1. Press Ctrl-Alt-Delete to open the Windows NT Security option window.

  2. Click the Task Manger button.

  3. From the Windows NT Task Manger dialog box, select Softimage 3D from the list of programs that are presently running on your desktop.

  4. Click the End Task button to kill the soft process. The Softimage 3D window disappears from your screen.
