PRB: No Err If Insecure Process Set to 0 for Store Environment
PSS ID Number: 160758
Article Last Modified on 3/10/2000
The information in this article applies to:
- Microsoft Merchant Server 1.0
This article was previously published under Q160758
SYMPTOMS
When the following registry key settings exist, the Store Service does not
report an error at startup:
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MerchantServer\Machines\
<server_name>\<environment>\secure set to "1"
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\MerchantServer\Machines\
<server_name>\<environment>\insecure set to "0"
WORKAROUND
Make sure that you have at least one insecure process configured for the
store environments (dev, prd or stage) using either the Merchant Server
Administrator Control Panel or the Registry Editor.
Note that when you configure secure or insecure processes for a new
environment, you must restart the router along with the Store Service. For
example, if you had never used the dev or stage environment before and
intend to do so, you need to restart the router after configuring insecure
and secure processes. This is by design.
STATUS
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft Merchant Server
