SUMMARY

If you installed FLEXlm on a workstation with a 'C' and 'D' drive partition, you may encounter problems when trying to run Softimage 3D. Problems occur if there is not enough space to install FLEXlm on the 'C' drive.

When you install Softimage 3D, the FLEXlm license driver information (.dll and .exe files among others) is always placed on the 'C' drive. If the 'C' drive is too small, the FLEXlm license server of Softimage 3D cannot write all the necessary files to that drive, thus preventing Softimage 3D from running.

To correct this problem, you must copy the FLEXlm driver information from the 'C' drive to the 'D' drive. For example, copy "C:\FLEXLM" to "D:\FLEXLM" and make sure you edit the "DEAMON" line of the "license.dat" file so it reflects the new path, i.e.: "DEAMON SOFTIMAGE C:\FLEXLM\lmsoft.exe" to "DEAMON SOFTIMAGE D:\FLEXLM\lmsoft.exe".
