  • Softimage 3D for Windows NT, versions 3.0, 3.01, 3.51

SUMMARY

To run the SDK plugins from the Trance CD, you need to have the SAA.dll (Enabler) and MSVCRT40.DLL installed on Windows NT (some of these plug-ins were compiled with the /D debug flag).

The SAA.dll should be installed in the %SI_LOCATION%\3D\dso directory. It is only installed if you select the liveGL/OGL option in the Setup program. If you have already installed Softimage 3D but find that you are missing this library, you can re-run Setup to install the liveGL/OGL to get the dll.

The MSVCRT40.DLL file is a part of Microsoft Visual C++ that most users have not installed. The file can be obtained from the Softimage 3D ftp site under:

   /pub/support/dist/3Dv3.01-NT/msvcrt/

file names:

   intel.zip
   alpha.zip
   mips.zip

Choose the appropriate file, then place it, unzipped, in the C:\WINNT35\SYSTEM32 directory.
