The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft NetMeeting version 1.0 for Windows 95

SYMPTOMS

If you change the preferred recording or playback device settings in Windows 95, the changes may not be reflected in the NetMeeting Audio Tuning Wizard.

For example, if you select None for your preferred recording and playback devices, the Audio Tuning Wizard does not reflect this change and shows the previously chosen devices as still in use.

RESOLUTION

Use the Multimedia tool in Control Panel to determine which devices are actually available. To change the preferred recording or playback device settings, follow these steps:

Select a Preferred Recording and Playback Device

  1. Click Start, point to settings, click Control Panel, and then double- click Multimedia.

  2. Click the Audio tab.

  3. Under both Playback and Recording, click the device you want in the Preferred Device box.

  4. Click OK.

Run the NetMeeting Audio Tuning Wizard

To setup the preferred recording and playback devices in NetMeeting, click Audio Tuning Wizard on the Tools menu in NetMeeting, and then proceed through the Audio Tuning Wizard.

STATUS

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in Microsoft NetMeeting version 1.0. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
