If the FTP site is part of your company's Intranet, you will enter the name by using this format:

   ftp://servername/folder

4. If the FTP site supports logging in as Anonymous, click the Anonymous option. If you must have a user account on the FTP site, click the User option and then type your name in the User list.
5. Type your password (if you have one) in the Password box.
6. Click Add.
7. Click OK.

The FTP site will now appear in the list of sites where you can open or save files.

Saving a File to an FTP Site

1. On the File menu, click Save As.
2. In the Look In list click the name of the FTP Location. The path should look similar to the following:

   ftp://ftp.microsoft.com/

If you have not defined an FTP site, see the "Opening a File from an FTP Site" section of this article.

Provided you have rights to the FTP site, you should be able to save presentations to the FTP site.

Troubleshooting

This feature requires that you have Internet or Intranet access from your computer. You can verify your connection to the FTP site by following these steps:

1. On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
2. In the Run dialog box, type the name of the FTP site. For example, type this:

   ftp://ftp.microsoft.com

If your Web browser starts and you can see the contents of the FTP site, you have the correct access to the site.

This feature also requires that you have open and save privileges on the FTP site.
