SUMMARY

How To Copy Materials or Textures Using the Spreadsheet

This procedure shows you how to use the Spreadsheet to copy the material contents of one cell to other cells.

  1. Open the spreadsheet window.

  2. Select the cells that you want to modify (including the cell that contains the contents that you want to copy).

  3. Middle-click in the source cell and press Enter.

The material contents of the source cell is copied to all the selected cells.

The spreadsheet allows you to modify the values of multiple materials and textures that are already assigned to an element, but it does not allow you to assign a given material to other elements.

How To Share Materials or Textures Using the 'Associate' Command

This procedure shows you how to associate (share) material from one object with other objects.

  1. Open a Schematic window and select the Matter mode.

  2. Select an object, and then open the Material Editor.

  3. Load a material and click OK.

  4. Deselect the object.

  5. Multi-select the objects that you want to associate with the material.

  6. Select Mat_Oper -> Associate.

  7. In the Schematic window, select the material that you loaded.

Sharing materials and textures is useful because it allows you to quickly edit a material or texture used throughout your scene. If you edit the material or texture of any one of the selected objects, the changes affect all of the objects that are associated with the material or texture.
