SUMMARY

This article explains how to use the international character sets in Softimage 3D. The list of characters includes a complete set of standard characters as well as international characters, foreign language accents, and symbols.

MORE INFORMATION

To produce a character from the international character set, use the appropriate code listed under the character that you want to appear. Be sure to use four numbers of code and to precede the code with a backslash (\####). If the code for the character that you want contains three numbers or less, you must enter zeros in front of the code to fill the four required spaces.

In this procedure, you will use the international character sets.

  1. From the Model module, select Get -> Text.

  2. In the dialog box that appears, select a font and insert the code that corresponds to the text you want to appear. It is not necessary to enter a code for standard characters.

  3. Click OK.

For example, insert the word "Softimage" by typing the following line of code "\0083\0111\0102\0116\0105\0109\0097\0103\0101" (without the inverted commas). Alternately, you can input the word Softimage by using the standard characters on the keyboard.

For example, insert the copyright symbol, (c), by typing the following code "\0564" (without the inverted commas).

This function is accessible in all Softimage 3D modules except the Softimage 3D Tools module.
