  • Microsoft Windows NT Server version 3.51

Nicknames can be imported from a Banyan Vines Server and Exported to a Windows NT Server. Banyan Vines StreetTalk users can have multiple Nicknames associated with the Username. The Banyan Vines Migration Tool will import all of the Nicknames associated with the Username.

To export nicknames as usernames to a Windows NT domain controller, select Shortest Nickname from the User Mass Editing dialog box. During an export, the Banyan Vines Migration Tool will select the shortest nickname that is mapped to a Banyan Vines username stored in the import database, and the Banyan Vines usernames will automatically map to Windows NT full names.

For example:

   StreetTalk User: Tester@Engineering@Microsoft
   Nickname: Test and Testuser

Test and Testuser nicknames are imported to the Migration Tool database. During an export, if Shortest Nickname is selected, Test will be exported as a Windows NT username and Tester will be exported as a Windows NT full name.
