Migration Steps to Migrate Banyan Vines Files and Directories

The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft Windows NT Server version 3.51

Use the following migration steps to migrate Banyan Vines File and Directories using the Banyan Vines Migration Tool.

  1. Migrate user and group accounts using the Banyan Vines Migration Tool.

  2. Generate mapping file to be used for the V2NTCP program using the Banyan Vines Migration Tool User Interface.

  3. Run the V2NTCP program in test mode first.

  4. View the log file.

  5. Edit the V2ntcpdb.txt mapping file for any additional built-in accounts that need to be added to resolve any errors in the log file.

  6. Repeat steps 3 through 5 until all errors have been resolved.

  7. Run the V2NTCP program to export files and directories to a Windows NT server.
