SYMPTOMS
========

If while editing a Microsoft Publisher story in Microsoft Word you
select several words and apply a hyperlink to them, only the first
word is returned to Publisher. That single word is formatted as though
it were a hyperlink, but it is not a hyperlink.

CAUSE
=====

When you apply a hyperlink to text in Word, Internet Assistant
converts that text to a field. When you exit Word and return to
Publisher, the field is discarded; Publisher receives only the field
results. Publisher does not fully understand the hyperlink formatting
applied by Internet Assistant for Word.

RESOLUTION
==========

If you want to apply a hyperlink to text in a publication, use the
hyperlink tools in Publisher instead of Word.

STATUS
======

Microsoft is researching this problem and will post new information
here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
