Deadly Tide: Fatal Exception 0E After Pressing F3 Key

SYMPTOMS

When you run the programs listed at the top of this article, you may receive the following error message:
Fatal Exception 0E has occurred at XXXX:XXXX

RESOLUTION

Re-install the DirectX drivers using the following steps:

NOTE: You must re-install DirectX from your newest DirectX CD. Older versions of DirectX do not overwrite newer versions.

  1. Insert the Deadly Tide compact disc into your CD-ROM drive.
  2. Double-click the My Computer icon on the Windows desktop.
  3. With your right mouse button, click your CD-ROM drive and click Install DirectX with your left mouse button.
  4. Click ReInstall DirectX.
  5. Click OK to restart your machine.

The programs listed at the top of this article use DirectX version 2.0. The latest version of DirectX is version 6.0. You can download and install the latest version of DirectX from the following Microsoft Web site:
