The information in this article applies to:
  • Softimage 3D for IRIX, versions 2.66, 3.0, 3.5

SYMPTOMS

Flashing occurs when you transform objects in Rotoscope view.

CAUSE

The flashing is caused due to bad synchronization between the front and back buffer when you transform an object (Scale, Rotate, and Translate). Orbit is not affected by this problem.

WORKAROUND

Use one of the following two methods to eliminate Rotoscope flashing.

Method One

When working in Rotoscope full view, perform the following steps:

  1. Click the sizing icon in the upper-right corner of the window to maximize the Rotoscope view.

  2. Press Shift+R to eliminate the flashing.

You can now transform objects without additional flashing.

Method Two

When working in Rotoscope quarter view, perform the following steps:

  1. Position your cursor in the center of the four windows.

  2. Press "w" while dragging your mouse to obtain the desired window size.

  3. Press Shift+R to eliminate the flashing.

You can now transform objects without the occurrence of additional flashing.
