Error Message: ActiveMovie Cannot Play this Video Stream... |
Q155249
When you attempt to play a Motion Picture Experts Group (MPEG) video file with ActiveMovie, you may receive the following error message:
ActiveMovie cannot play this video stream because it falls outside the constrained standard.
This error occurs when the file you are trying to play has a screen resolution size of 352 x 240 or higher.
To work around this problem, use a third-party movie player that is capable of playing MPEG movies with a frame size higher than 352 x 240.
Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in ActiveMovie 1.0 for Windows 95. We are researching this problem and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.
The ActiveMovie MPEG decoder assumes the frame size of the movie to be under 352 x 240 for playback performance reasons.
