  • Microsoft NetMeeting versions 1.0, 2.0 for Windows 95

SUMMARY

In order to establish a NetMeeting conference over the Internet Packet Exchange/Sequenced Packet Exchange (IPX/SPX) network protocol, the address must be in network:node format. You must obtain the network and node address for the user you want to call.

There is no built-in way within Windows 95 of obtaining the IPX network address.

MORE INFORMATION

NetMeeting can establish conferences over IPX using the network node address for IPX. To place a call over IPX only, the network and node address must be entered in the Computer Name field using the following format

   XXXXXXXX:YYYYYYYYYYYY

where X is the IPX network address and Y is the node address.

Microsoft has released the Ipxaddr.exe tool to provide your IPX network and node address for use in NetMeeting conferences.

To use Ipxaddr.exe, double-click the Ipxaddr.exe file. Your network and node address information are displayed. You can provide this address information to the NetMeeting user who will be calling you.

The Ipxaddr.exe tool is available on the following Microsoft Web site:
