The information in this article applies to:

  • Microsoft NetMeeting version 1.0 for Windows 95

SYMPTOMS

When you attempt to register a user name on a User Location Service (ULS) server that is not available, Microsoft NetMeeting may not attempt to reconnect to that server until after you restart NetMeeting.

CAUSE

When NetMeeting connects to a server, it maintains contact with the server to ensure that listings are properly updated. However, if NetMeeting fails to find the server on the first attempt, it does not make further attempts to contact the server during that session.

RESOLUTION

Quit and then restart NetMeeting.
