Toolbar Options Missing in Internet Explorer

SYMPTOMS

Some or all of the toolbar options may be missing in Internet Explorer.


CAUSE

The behavior can occur if the toolbar options are disabled.


RESOLUTION

To enable toolbar options, follow these steps:

  1. In Internet Explorer, click Options on the View menu.

    NOTE: In Internet Explorer version 3.2, click Toolbars on the View menu, and then skip the remaining steps.


  2. On the General tab, for each toolbar option you want to enable, click its check box to select it under Toolbars.


  3. Click OK.



MORE INFORMATION

The Standard Buttons option enables the Back, Forward, Stop, Refresh, Home, Search, Favorites, Print, Font, and Mail buttons.

The Address Bar option enables the Address box. The Address box is used to type Web page addresses.

The Links option enables the Links toolbar. The Links toolbar is used to provide single-click access to frequently used Web pages.

The Text Labels option enables titles under the standard buttons.

The Background Bitmap option enables background graphics on all toolbars.
