The information in this article applies to:
  • Microsoft Internet Explorer version 3.0 for Windows 95

SUMMARY

When you install Internet Explorer 3.0 over an existing version of Internet Explorer, the name of the Internet icon on the desktop stays the same as it was before you upgraded to version 3.0

MORE INFORMATION

Previous versions of Internet Explorer renamed the Internet icon back to its default name when installed or reinstalled. This behavior has been changed in Internet Explorer 3.0 so that the Internet icon retains its current name.
