PRB: A Null No Longer Works As A Source In Particle

Last reviewed: July 15, 1996
Article ID: Q153683
The information in this article applies to:
  • Particle included with Softimage 3D Extreme for IRIX, version 3.50
  • Particle added on to Softimage 3D for IRIX, version 3.50

SYMPTOMS

You try to use a null as a source in Particle and it does not appear to be working. In fact, it cannot work. Nulls do not work well as Particle sources.

RESOLUTION

To work around this limitation, use real surface geometry as a source; that is, use a very small cube as a source.

STATUS

This behavior is by design.
