BUG: OutputDisk Tool Doesn't Render in Field Mode

Last reviewed: July 2, 1996
Article ID: Q153221
The information in this article applies to:
  • Softimage Eddie for IRIX, versions 3.2a, 3.2b

SYMPTOMS

While preparing to render your images, you select Field Mode in the OutputDisk tool of your hierarchy and save that function file. At render time, you specify that Function file in eddiebatch to render your images.

You render as usual, but the images do not render in fields because when you saved the Function file that selected field mode, the file did not save the Field Render option.

RESOLUTION

To work around this bug, use either the -F or the -f options in eddiebatch as follows:

  • To get normal field dominance, select -f.
  • When you want to reverse the field dominance for field rendering, use the -F option.

NOTE: For standard field rendering, you would normally use the -F option but, because of another bug, the -F option actually reverses field dominance and reverses the option specified when you select -f.

STATUS

NOTE: Softimage has confirmed this to be a bug in the Softimage product listed at the beginning of this article. We are researching this bug and will post new information here in the Microsoft Knowledge Base as it becomes available.

NOTE: Softimage Inc. is a wholly-owned subsidiary of Microsoft Corporation.
