If Works is installed locally under a shared installation of Windows, the files listed above in the C:\<Windows>\System, Fonts, and Viewers folders are installed as follows:

If the user has read/write access to the shared system folder on the networks server, the System files are installed in that folder.
If the user does not have read/write access to the shared system folder on the network, the System files are installed to the Windows user's folder. The Windows user's folder may be on the server or on the local hard drive, depending on choices made when Windows was installed. To determine the Windows user's folder, do the following:
1. Click Start, point to Programs and click MS-DOS Prompt.
2. Type Set and press ENTER. The Windir variable is the Windows user's folder.

Also, under a shared installation of Windows, the files listed above in C:\<Windows>\Shellnew are installed in the local C\Program Files\Msworks folder.
