    SUMMARY

This article describes how to delete and recreate the Microsoft Exchange hidden, non-IPM folders (the Offline Address Book and Schedule+ Free Busy Information).

    MORE INFORMATION

The non-IPM folders can only be deleted when you run the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program in Raw mode.

WARNING: Using the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program in raw mode should only be done under the direction of a Microsoft Exchange Support Engineer. Incorrectly configuring the Administrator properties in raw mode can cause serious, system-wide problems that may require you to reinstall Microsoft Exchange Server to correct them. Microsoft cannot guarantee that any problems resulting from the incorrect use of the Administrator program in raw mode can be solved. Use this tool at your own risk.

    To delete a non-IPM folder:

    1. Start the Microsoft Exchange Administrator program in Raw mode by running "admin.exe /r".
    2. Select the Recipients container in the Site containing the non-IPM folders you want to delete.
    3. Click Hidden Recipients on the View menu. At this point, the two non-IPM folders should be visible in the objects pane.
    4. Select the non-IPM folder you need to delete.
    5. Click Delete Raw Object on the Edit menu.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Click Yes.

    To recreate the Non-IPM folder:
    1. Select <site>, Configuration, Servers, <your server>.
    2. Click Properties on the File menu.
    3. Click the Advanced tab.
    4. Click All Inconsistencies under DS/IS consistency adjustment.
    5. Click Adjust.
    6. Click OK.
    7. Click OK.

At this point, the non-IPM folder should be recreated. In some cases, the recreated folder may need to be assigned to a Public Information Store. To assign the folder to a Public Information Store:
    1. Select <site>, Configuration, Servers, <your server>.
    2. Double-click the Public Information Store object.
    3. Click the Instances tab.
    4. Select the folder.
    5. Click the Add button.
