This article describes how to set up the Motorola BitSurfr Pro ISDN modem
for dual-channel access to MSN, The Microsoft Network.

The following instructions work with version 1G of the BitSurfr Pro. You
can get the latest BitSurfr drivers from the Bitsurfr Software web site.
To enable multilink settings for the BitSurfr Pro, follow these steps:
- In Control Panel, double-click Modems.
- Click the BitSurfr modem, and then click Properties.
- On the Connection tab, click Advanced.
- To connect at 112,000 bps, type the following string in the Extra
Settings box:
%A2=95%A4=1@B0=2
To connect at 128,000 bps, type the following string in the Extra
Settings box:
%A2=95%A4=0@B0=2
- Click OK or Close until you return to Control Panel.
You also need to enter the access phone number using these steps:
- On the MSN Sign In screen, click Settings.
- Click "MSN is my dial-up Internet access provider."
- Click Access Numbers.
- In the Service Type box, click "ISDN access to the Internet and
MSN."
- Click the Change button next to the Primary box.
- Select your country, state or region, and city to find your access
number.
- Select the access number and click OK.
- In the Primary box, type the access number to call MSN (including the
area code and line access number if needed) twice, separated by an
ampersand.
For example, if the MSN phone number is long-distance (425/739-0181)
and you dial 9 to get an outside line, type:
914257390181&914257390181
If it is long-distance without dialing 9 for a local line, type:
14257390181&14257390181
If it is a local call, type:
7390181&7390181
- Click OK until you return to the Sign In screen.
