Q152277
The VERSION() function example is stated incorrectly in the VFPODBC.TXT in the Visual FoxPro ODBC driver readme file.
The VERSION function can be used inside a trigger to conditionally execute
code that should be executed specifically when the trigger is executed from
the Visual FoxPro ODBC driver. The VERSION() function with the Visual
FoxPro ODBC driver 1.0 returns the string "Visual FoxPro ODBC Driver
01.00.0083" without the quotation marks.
The code example in the Visual FoxPro ODBC driver readme file should be
modified to execute correctly.
The code example should be as follows:
IF VERSION()$"Visual FoxPro ODBC Driver"
* [Insert trigger code that is supported by the Visual FoxPro ODBC
Driver]
ELSE
* [Insert trigger code supported by Visual FoxPro]
ENDIF
instead of:
IF "Visual FoxPro ODBC Driver"$VERSION()
* [Insert trigger code that is supported by the Visual FoxPro ODBC
Driver]
ELSE
* [Insert trigger code supported by Visual FoxPro]
ENDIF
