SUMMARY

This is Part 1 of 2 articles which describe the files and folders that are installed during the various types of workstation installations.

You may perform a workstation installation after performing an administrative setup (Setup /A) of Works 4.0 to a server. During the administrative installation you may choose the type of installation that will be performed during subsequent workstation installations.

This article addresses installing shared components locally on the workstation. Part 2 describes the Server and Users' Choice options.

For more information about Part 2, please see the following article in the Microsoft Knowledge Base:

MORE INFORMATION

During the administrative installation of Works, you may specify where the shared components, such as Draw, WordArt, and Spell Checker, will be installed when you run the workstation installation.

SHARED COMPONENTS INSTALLED LOCALLY

If you choose to install the shared components locally (on the workstation), the following files and folders will be installed on the workstation.

NOTE: The information below assumes that the workstation's local hard disk is drive C and that Windows is installed in the Windows folder. The file dates are for files from the CD version. If you install from diskettes, the dates will be 7-10-95.

Setup creates the following folders if they don't exist:

Folder C:\Program Files\MSWorks\Setup40
