SUMMARY
=======

Using the Move command in Microsoft Works to move a value to a cell
that is referenced by a formula may return "Offsheet" for the cell
reference.

WORKAROUND
==========

There are two possible workarounds:

Option 1
--------

Instead of using the Move command to move a value to a cell that is
referenced by a formula, use the Cut and Paste commands. To use Cut and
Past to move a value, complete the following steps:

1. Highlight the cell containing the value to be moved

2. Choose Cut from the Edit menu.

3. Highlight the cell where you want the value moved to.

4. Choose Paste from the edit menu

NOTE: this option works only if the destination cells are empty.

To remove cells that are referenced in a formula and move other cells up,
do the following:

1. Highlight the cells to be removed and choose CLEAR from the Edit
   menu.

2. Highlight the cells to be moved and choose CUT from the Edit menu.

3. Click on the top left cell of the destination area and choose PASTE
   from the Edit menu.

Option 2
--------

Before using the Move command to move a value to a cell that is referenced
by a formula, always clear the contents of the destination cell first, and
then move the new value to that cell.

MORE INFORMATION
================

To illustrate this problem, do the following:

1. In cell A1 type 1.

2. In cell A2 type =A1+1.

3. In cell A3 type 2.

4. Select cell A3.

5. From the Edit menu, choose Move.

6. In the Enter Destination Cell For Move box, type A1.

   Cell A2 will display "N/A" and the formula bar will read "=Offsheet+1".

The "Offsheet" error is returned because rows 1 and 2 have been moved
to rows that do not exist on the spreadsheet.
