SUMMARY
=======

When performing a print merge with Microsoft Word for the Macintosh,
if the first character in a data document field is a space, it is
dropped when the data document is merged with the main document. This
is by design of the program.

To get the leading spaces in a data document to print when it is
merged into the main document, do one of the following:

   Replace each leading space with a hard space. A hard space
character
   is created by pressing OPTION+SPACEBAR or COMMAND+SPACEBAR.

   -or-

   Place quotation marks around each entry that contains a leading
space
   or spaces.

MORE INFORMATION
================

In Word version 4.0, if a table is used for the data document, the
leading spaces will be preserved.
