Summary:

The possible causes of the error message "Disk is Full" when saving a
file in versions 1.00 and 1.05 of Microsoft Word are as follows:

1. Word requires a work space equal to the file size on disk, for
example, if you are saving a 100K file, you will need another 100K
on disk to save the file. Therefore, the largest file with which
you can practically work on a 400K disk is a 200K file.

2. Having a reference in the Clipboard to a previous save. This means
that nothing has been copied since the file was saved. This will
happen only on the second save or later. Word assumes that you may
want to paste from it, so a copy of the old file is saved on disk.
The Clipboard does not hold the actual text, just a reference to
it. To clear the Clipboard, do the following:

   a. Type in some new text.
   b. Cut it.
   c. Repeat steps a and b (this is necessary to eliminate the
possibility of causing the problem again by choosing Undo).
