Summary:
It is not necessary to install the Microsoft XENIX COBOL Compiler
run-time module, as it is in MS-DOS COBOL. In XENIX, the run-time
system configures itself by extracting needed information from the
terminal-capability database called TERMCAP.
TERMCAP entries are supplied with the XENIX operating system.
Microsoft COBOL (XENIX) uses the TERM environment variable in the
.PROFILE file to find the correct terminal entry in the TERMCAP file.
If there is no TERMCAP entry for the terminal to be used, the TERMCAP
file should be changed to include the configuration of the terminal.
The TERMCAP file can be altered with support from the hardware
manufacturer or the TERMINSTALL program supplied with Microsoft COBOL.
