SYMPTOMS
========

When you import a 401(k) account from Quicken 98, news icons do not appear in
Portfolio Manager beside the securities held in the 401(k) account.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs because Quicken lists all securities held in a 401(k)
account as mutual funds rather than stocks.

NOTE: The Quicken wizard that creates a 401(k) account assumes that all of the
securities held in the account are mutual funds.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, change the security type of the stocks held in a Quicken
401(k) account to Stock before you import the account into MSN Investor. This
enables Investor to display the news icons as expected.

See the "More Information" section later in this article for the steps to change
the security type of investments from Mutual Fund to Stock in a Quicken 401(k)
account.

When you reimport your Quicken 401(k) account, you overwrite your existing MSN
Investor account. If you have made transactions or changes in your MSN Investor
account, you need to re-enter these transactions and changes after you reimport
your Quicken account.

To help you re-enter these transactions and changes, print a transaction report
from MSN Investor. Print the report for your MSN Investor account before you
reimport your Quicken account.

For information about how to create a transaction report, click the Print My
Portfolio And Transactions link in the Help Topics area of MSN Investor Help.
