SYMPTOMS
========
 
If you use Online Banking in Microsoft Money 98, you may receive the following
error message:
 
   Money could not find Xsisc.dll or one of its associated files.
 
   The file(s) must be installed for Online Services to work properly with your
   file. Please reinstall Microsoft Money from your original product disks.
 
If you use Online Banking in Microsoft Money 99, you may receive one of the
following error messages:
 
   - Unable to find Xsisc.dll or one of its associated files.
 
   The file(s) must be installed for Online Services to work properly with your
   file. Please reinstall Microsoft Money from your original product disks.
 
   - Money was not able to initialize Online Services. If you want to use your
   Online Services, please reinstall Money from your original product disks.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
This behavior can occur if any of the following files are missing or damaged:
 
 - M_encutl.dll
 - M_link.dll
 - M66cryp.dll
 - Mcomm.dll
 - Mfc40.dll
 - Msvcrt40.dll
 - Tiblitem.dll
 - Tssprivm.dll
 - Xsisc.dll
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
To resolve this issue, download and install the Windows Libraries Update. To do
this, follow the appropriate instructions for your version of Microsoft Windows
and Microsoft Internet Explorer on the following Microsoft Web site:
 
   http://www.microsoft.com/windows/downloads/contents/common/mfc.htm
 
On the Windows Update Web site, click Product Updates, and then click Microsoft
Libraries Update under Recommended Updates.

If the issue continues to occur, follow these steps to remove and replace any
damaged Money program files:
 
1. Click Start, and then click Run.
 
2. In the Open box, type the following line (including the quotation marks, and
   then click OK
 
   "<drive>:\Program Files\Microsoft Money\System"
 
   where <drive> is the letter of the hard disk on which Money is
   installed.
 
3. Delete the following files:
 
    - M_encutl.dll
    - M_link.dll
    - M66cryp.dll
    - Mcomm.dll
    - Tiblitem.dll
    - Tssprivm.dll
    - Xsisc.dll
 
   To do this, click the M_encutl.dll file, and then press and hold down CTRL as
   you click the other files in the list. On the File menu, click Delete, and
   then click Yes To All.
 
4. On the Go menu, click Up One Level.
 
5. Double-click the Setup folder.
 
6. Right-click the Setup.stf file, and then click Delete. If you are prompted to
   confirm the deletion, click Yes.
 
7. Close the Setup window.
 
8. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
 
9. Double-click Add/Remove Programs.
 
10. On the Install/Uninstall tab, click Microsoft Money, and then click
   Add/Remove.
 
11. Click Reinstall Microsoft Money.
