SYMPTOMS
========

When you import a QIF file from your financial institution into your
account register, transfer transactions may be entered as deposit or
withdrawal transactions in your account register.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior occurs if the transfer is to or from another financial
institution. A financial institution only recognizes the side of the
transfer transaction that occurs at their institution. Therefore, the
transaction is identified by your financial institution as either a
withdrawal from or a deposit into your account.

RESOLUTION
==========

To change the transaction from a deposit or a withdrawal to a transfer,
follow these steps:

1. In your account register, right-click the imported transaction you
   want to modify, and then click Edit.

2. In the Category box, click Transfer.

   NOTE: The Transfer category is listed under the Special heading in the
   Category box.

3. In the subcategory box, click the account receiving the transfer.

4. Click Enter.

If you do not see a subcategory box, follow these steps:

1. On the Tools menu, click Options.

2. Click the Categories tab.

3. Under Using Categories, click to clear the "Use a single list for
   categories and subcategories as well as classifications" check box,
   and then click OK.

MORE INFORMATION
================

If you manually enter the transfer transactions before you import the QIF
file, duplicate transactions may be entered in your account register.

When you import a QIF file into Money, Money automatically enters all
transactions in the QIF file in your account register. Money does not
attempt to match transactions in the QIF file to transactions that are
already entered in your account register.

To delete duplicate transactions from your account register, follow these
steps:

1. In your account register, right-click the duplicate transaction.

2. Click Delete, and then click Yes.
