SUMMARY
=======
 
If you are attempting to access the Office Update Web site, you may be unable to
view Web pages or download components. The following is a list of possible
solutions. For best results, please follow the steps as they are outlined here:
 
Refresh The Web Page-To Do So,Press F5 Or Click Refresh In Internet Explorer.
Pressing CTRL + F5 will force a Refresh of the server you are using to access
the site, and may be helpful if the server's cache appears to be corrupted.
 
FOR INTERNET EXPLORER 5.0 USERS:

To clear the Cache and History use the following steps:
-------------------------------------------------------
 
1. Start Internet Explorer.
 
2. Click Tools.
 
3. Click Internet Options and then click the General tab.
 
4. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click Delete Files.
 
5. In the History section, click Clear History.
 
6. Click OK. You will need to close ALL Open Internet Explorer windows for the
   changes to take effect.
 
Change your Internet Security settings to Medium. To do so, use the following steps:

1. Start Internet Explorer.
 
2. Click Tools.
 
3. Click Internet Options and then click the Security tab
 
4. Make sure the Internet Zone is highlighted in the Zone box.
 
5. Choose the Medium security setting.
 
6. Click Apply.
 
FOR INTERNET EXPLORER 4.0 USERS:

1. Start Internet Explorer.
 
2. Click View, then click Options.
 
3. Click the Navigation tab.
 
4. Click Clear History.
 
5. Click OK.
 
To clear the Cache, use the following steps:
--------------------------------------------
 
1. Start Internet Explorer.
 
2. Click View, then click Options.
 
3. Click the Advanced tab.
 
4. In the Temporary Internet Files section, click View Files. This will open a
   new window.
 
5. In the new window, click Edit, then click Select All. This will highlight all
   of the files in the Temporary Internet folder.
 
6. Click File, then click Delete.
 
To verify Security Settings are set to Medium, use the following steps:

1. Start Internet Explorer.
 
2. Click View, then click Security.
 
3. In the Active Content section, click Security Level.
 
4. Select Medium and click OK.
 
NOTE:
If you have any problems downloading, please check the size of the file
downloaded to the machine.

1. Verify the file size and file name at the Office Update site at:
 
2. Check the size of the file on your system by following these steps:
 
 - Click Start, Find and then Click Files or Folders.
 
 - Type the name of the file in the Named field on the Name & Location tab
   and then click Find Now.
 
 - Look under the 'Size' column on the menu in the results dialogue box.
 
NOTE:
If the file sizes do not match, the component may not have fully downloaded. If
this is the case, please delete the file and try downloading the file again.

If you have tried all of the above solutions, and are still unable to view or
download components, please submit an incident using Web Response. Connect to
the Office Update site at:
 
1. Connect to the Office Update Web site at: http://officeupdate.microsoft.com
 
2. Click Member Services.
 
3. Click Office Update Technical Support.
 
4. Click Office Update Support Form.
 
    - You may be prompted to establish a Registration ID, if you haven't already
      done so, which you can use to obtain many Microsoft products or services.
 
    - To establish the ID, enter your e-mail address in the space provided and
      click Continue.
 
    - If you do not have an e-mail address, you can quickly get one by clicking:
      hotmail.com on the registration page.
 
5. After you enter your e-mail address, click Continue.
 
6. Type your Password.
 
    - If you can't remember your password, click E-mail My Password and we will
      send it to you.
 
7. Provide the following information in the space provided:
 
    - Your Computer
 
       - Operating System
 
       - Internet Browser
 
       - Computer Make
 
       - Computer Model
 
       - CPU Speed
 
       - Memory
 
    - The Problem
 
       - Describe only one problem at a time. If you are having more than one
         problem, please submit them seperately.
 
       - Issue Type
 
       - Component Name
 
       - URL Address
 
       - Error Type
 
       - Question Title
 
       - Detailed Problem Description
 
       - Check one of the following:
 
          - I can duplicate this problem.
 
          - I can connect to other Web sites such as http://www.microsoft.com
 
          - It previously worked for me but is not working now.
 
          - It has never worked.
 
    - Contact Information
 
       - E-mail Address
 
       - Phone Number
 
       - Fax Number
 
       - Time Zone
 
8. When the request form has been completed:
 
    - Click Finish to submit your request.
 
    - You should receive a response within one business day.
