Summary

The Universal Disk Format file system (UDF) is a read-only file system designed to interchange data on DVDs and CD-ROMs. To read UDF-formatted discs, the drive needs the ability to locate file system structures at specific offsets at the beginning or end of the disc.

CD-ROM drives that read 512 bytes per sector may not locate the file system structure, and as a result, cannot read UDF-formatted discs.

More Information

To enable your drive to read 2048 bytes per sector, refer to the installation instructions for your drive or contact the drive manufacturer for additional assistance.
