SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you start Liquid Motion, you may receive the following error message:
 
   Error Starting Program
   A required .DLL file, SAFE.DLL, was not found.
 
When you click OK, Liquid Motion does not start.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
This behavior occurs because the application necessary to verify your license
cannot be found on the computer. This can happen for several reasons, the most
common being one of the following:
 
 - You are running the program from a network or shared location.
 
 - You are running the program after you have restored the application by simply
   copying the Liquid Motion folder to your computer.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
Restore your license and reinstall Liquid Motion. To do this, follow these
steps:
 
1. Restore your license. For additional information about restoring your product
   license, please see the following article(s) in the Microsoft Knowledge
   Base:
 
   Q189829 LM1: How to Backup and Restore Your Product License
 
2. Reinstall Liquid Motion.
 
   a. If you are not already connected, connect to the Internet.
 
   b. Open the following Microsoft web site in your Web browser:
 
   http://www.microsoft.com/liquidmotion/shop
 
   c. Click the link of the distributor from which you purchased Liquid Motion.
      If your distributor is not listed, click any distributor listed on the
      page.
 
   d. Click the InstallFromTheWeb button and follow the instructions on your
      screen.
 
   e. If you are prompted to restart your computer, click Yes.
 
3. Start Liquid Motion.
