PART 2: VIDEO CARD ISSUES
=========================

To run the Actimates Software Sampler, your computer's screen resolution
must be set to 800 x 600, with 256 colors or higher. For most video cards,
the software will automatically switch your computer to the correct
resolution. However, for some computers and video cards, you may need
to change this setting yourself.

1. From the Windows Start menu, click Settings, and then click
   Control Panel.

2. Double-click Display, and then click the Settings tab.

3. Under Desktop Area, drag the slider until the setting reads
   800 by 600 pixels.

4. Under Color Palette, select the setting for 256 colors.

If you are unable to change your settings manually, your video card may
not have enough video RAM to support the ActiMates Software Sampler.

Make sure you have the latest video drivers for your video card. You can
download the latest drivers from your video card manufacturer's Web site
or bulletin board service (BBS).

PART 3: USING THIS SOFTWARE WITH MICROSOFT ACTIMATES ARTHUR OR D.W.
===================================================================

The ActiMates PC Pack Transmitter and the Microsoft ActiMates Barney,
Arthur, and D.W. characters are low-powered radio devices, similar to an
AM/FM radio or cordless phone. Radio interference may sometimes cause
the ActiMates character to stutter or miss a word.

Quit other programs while the ActiMates software is running. If you find
that the ActiMates character stutters or misses words frequently, see the
troubleshooting tips in the Getting Started manual for the ActiMates PC
Pack.
