SYMPTOMS
========

When reading a statement imported from your broker, Microsoft Money may get
stuck in a loop when trying to finish the Investment Verification or
Security Matching phase of reading the statement. The only option to get
out of this situation is to click Postpone.

CAUSE
=====

This problem occurs when the download from your broker contains the same
security with two different Unique Identification numbers, or contains the
same security name and ticker symbol for securities with different Unique
Identification numbers.

RESOLUTION
==========

Contact your broker and mention the security name (symbol) that is having
this problem, to have them correct the duplication.

MORE INFORMATION
================

If your broker has problems correcting the duplication, you can contact
Money Technical Support at (425) 635-7131 and find out how to submit a copy
of your broker download files so that the problem can be confirmed.

When you make a call to your OFX service provider, Money creates two files
to log the call. These files are called Ofxrq.txt and Ofxrs.txt. To save
copies of both of these files, use the appropriate method for your version
of Money.

Steps for Money 99
------------------

1. On the navigation bar, click Online.

2. Click the arrow that appears to the left of Online Financial Services
   and then click your financial institution (broker).

3. In the left pane, click Connect.

4. At the bottom of the screen, click Connect.

5. In the Connect dialog box, where you are prompted to enter your password
   hold down CTRL+SHIFT and click Connect.

   This saves the two log files in the folder where your Money data file is
   located:

      Ofxrq.txt - This is a log of the request you sent.
      Ofxrs.txt - This is a log of the response you received.

6. When the call is completed, use Windows Explorer to locate these two
   files.

7. Save copies of both of these files to forward to your financial service
   provider. To do this, follow these steps:

    a. Put a floppy disk in your disk drive.

    b. In Windows Explorer, use the right mouse button to click (right-
       click) each file, point to Send To on the shortcut menu, and then
       click the appropriate floppy drive.

NOTE: If you downloaded the statement directly from your broker's Web site,
instead of connecting to them through Money, you can send a copy of the OFX
file that you downloaded.
