SYMPTOMS
========
 
You may receive an error message stating that your modem is not configured
correctly when your computer dials the 1-800 number to register your copy 
of Windows 98.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
If you have set your modem to dial 1 for all long distance numbers, you 
are dialing 1-1-800 for this call.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
You can remove the extra 1 for all long distance calls by following 
the steps below:
 
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
 
2. Double Click on the Modem Icon.
 
3. Click on Dialing Properties under the General Tab.
 
4. Remove the 1 from the "For Long Distance Calls, dial" box.
 
5. Try registering the product again.
