SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you run Money 99, the background colors may appear incorrect and text may
be difficult to read, or images on certain screens may be missing.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
This behavior can occur for any of the following reasons:
 
 - The Show Images or Load Pictures options are disabled in Microsoft Internet
   Explorer.
 
 - The display color palette is set to 16 colors, or the display area is set to
   640 X 480 resolution.
 
 - The .gif and .jpeg file types are not associated with Internet Explorer.
 
 - The Money image files are missing from the WebCache and Images folders.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
To resolve this issue, enable the Show Images and Load Pictures options in
Internet Explorer. To do this, follow the appropriate steps for your version of
Internet Explorer:
 
Internet Explorer 5.0
---------------------
 
1. On the Tools menu in Internet Explorer, click Internet Options.
 
2. On the Advanced tab, scroll down to the Multimedia section in the Settings
   box.
 
3. Under Multimedia, click to select the Play Animations, Play Sounds, Play
   Videos, Smart Image Dithering, and Show Pictures check boxes.
 
4. Click OK.
 
Internet Explorer 4.0
---------------------
 
1. On the View menu in Internet Explorer 4.0, click Internet Options.
 
2. On the Advanced tab, scroll down to the Multimedia section.
 
3. Under Multimedia, click to select the Play Animations, Play Sounds, Play
   Videos, Smart Image Dithering, and Show Pictures check boxes.
 
4. Click OK.
 
If the issue continues to occur, verify that your Windows display color palette
is set to 256 Colors or higher, and that your screen resolution is set to 800 X
600 or higher. To do this, follow these steps:
 
1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.
 
2. Double-click Display.
 
3. Click the Settings tab.
 
4. In the Color Palette or Colors box, click 256 Colors, High Color (16-bit),
   True Color (24-bit), or True Color (32-bit).
 
5. Move the Desktop Area or Screen Area slider to the 800 By 600 Pixels or
   higher position.
 
6. Click OK. If you are prompted to restart the computer, click Yes.
 
If the issue continues to occur, verify that the GIF Image and JPEG Image file
types are associated with Internet Explorer. To do this, follow these steps:
 
1. On the Windows desktop, double-click My Computer.
 
2. On the View menu, click Options or Folder Options.
 
3. Click the File Types tab.
 
4. Click GIF Image in the the list of registered file types.
 
5. Under File Type Details, verify that the Opens With value is set to IEXPLORE.
 
6. Click JPEG Image in the the list of registered file types.
 
7. Under File Type Details, verify that the Opens With value is set to IEXPLORE.
 
8. Click Cancel, and then close the My Computer window.
 
If the Opens With value for the GIF Image or JPEG Image file type is set to a
different value than IEXPLORE, reset the association for the file type. To do
this, follow these steps:
 
1. Right-click a blank area on the Windows desktop, point to New, and then click
   Text Document.
 
2. When the new text document appears on the desktop, right-click it, and then
   click Rename.
 
3. To reset the association for the GIF Image file type, type "test.gif"
   (without the quotation marks), press ENTER, and then click Yes.
 
   To reset the association for the JPEG Image file type, type "test.jpg"
   (without the quotation marks), press ENTER, and then click Yes.
 
4. Press and hold down the SHIFT key and right-click the Test.gif or Test.jpg
   file.
 
5. Click Open With.
 
6. In the "Choose the program you want to use" box, click Iexplore.
 
7. Click to select the "Always use this program to open this type of file" check
   box, and then click OK.
 
If the issue continues to occur, reinstall Money 99.
