SUMMARY
=======
 
In certain situations you may need to reinstall Liquid Motion after you
purchased and installed it from the Web. For example, if you have to reformat
your hard disk or install Liquid Motion on a new computer, you may need to
reinstall it. To successfully set up Liquid Motion in these cases, you will need
to restore a copy of the product license. This article describes how to create a
backup disk that contains the license and how to restore it.

Backing up the Liquid Motion Product License
--------------------------------------------
 
You can back up the Liquid Motion product license in one of two ways:
 
 - At the time of purchase.
 
 - Any time after installing Liquid Motion.
 
Backing up the License at Time of Purchase:
 
To backup your license at the time of purchase, follow these steps:
 
1. After verifying your credit card, the Liquid Motion Purchase Receipt dialog
   box appears. Click Backup.
 
2. In the License Backup Creation Wizard dialog box, click Next.
 
3. Insert a blank, formatted floppy disk in Drive A.
 
   NOTE: The backup process will only work in drive A, not drive B.
 
4. After the wizard has finished copying files to the floppy disk, click Finish.
 
Backing up the License After Installing Liquid Motion:
 
To backup your license any time after installing Liquid Motion, follow these
steps:
 
1. From the computer on which you installed Liquid Motion, open your Web
   browser. Go to the following Microsoft Web site:
 
   http://www.microsoft.com/liquidmotion/shop/
 
2. Click the link of the distributor from which you purchased your version of
   Liquid Motion. If your distributor is not listed, click any distributor
   listed on the page.
 
3. From the column that corresponds to your Web browser, click the Install From
   The Web button.
 
4. When you see the Liquid Motion Purchase Receipt dialog box, click Backup.
 
5. In the License Backup Creation Wizard dialog box, click Next.
 
6. Insert a blank, formatted floppy disk in Drive A.
 
   NOTE: The backup process will only work in drive A, not drive B.
 
7. After the wizard has finished copying files to the floppy disk, click Finish.
 
8. Click Cancel in the Liquid Motion Purchase Receipt dialog box.
 
Restoring the Product License
-----------------------------
 
To restore the product license, follow these steps:
 
1. If you are not already connected, connect to the Internet.
 
2. Insert the disk that contains your license in drive A.
 
3. On the Windows Start menu, click Run.
 
4. In the open box, type A:\LicenseBackup.exe and click OK.
 
5. On the License Backup Recovery Wizard welcome screen, click Next.
 
6. After the wizard has finished copying files, click Next.
 
   This will start the validation process.
 
7. If you are prompted to enter proxy server information, enter the name of your
   proxy server and port and then click Next. If you are not prompted to enter
   proxy server information, go to step 8.
 
8. After the verification process has finished, click Finish.
