SYMPTOMS
========

When your monitor is turned off by your computer's advanced power
management feature, the computer may stop responding (hang) or the
monitor may not return to full power.

CAUSE
=====

This behavior can occur if your screen saver is set to be displayed
at the same time the advanced power management feature turns off the
monitor.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this issue, set your screen saver to be displayed after a
different interval than the advanced power management feature uses to
turn off the monitor. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Click Start, point to Settings, and then click Control Panel.

2. Double-click Display.

3. Click the Screen Saver tab.

4. In the Wait box, click the number of minutes you want to elapse
   before Windows displays the screen saver, and then click OK.

5. Double-click Power Management.

6. In the Turn Off Monitor box, click the period of inactivity you want
   before Windows turns your monitor off, and then click OK.

NOTE: Make sure the number of minutes you selected in step 4 does not
match the period of inactivity you selected in step 6.
