SYMPTOMS
========

After publishing your animation to a frame set in FrontPage, when you preview
the frame set, the animation is not run.

CAUSE
=====

When you use some frame set templates or when you create a custom frame set,
FrontPage adds a default target frame for hyperlinks. FrontPage does this by
using the TARGET parameter of the HTML BASE element. For example, if the default
frame for your contents frame is "main," FrontPage inserts the following HTML
code:

   <base target="main">

Any parameters to the BASE element conflict with links internal to your animation
and the animation is not run.

RESOLUTION
==========

To resolve this behavior, remove the base URL and default target frame from the
page. To do this, follow these steps:

1. Open your page or frame set in FrontPage editor.

2. Click to select the animation placeholder for the animation that is not
   functioning.

3. On the File menu, click Page Properties.

4. Delete any text from the Base Location field.

5. Click the Change Target Frame button next to the Default Target Frame field.

6. Delete any text from the Target Setting field and click OK.

7. Click OK to the Page Properties dialog box and save the page.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products listed at
the beginning of this article.
