SYMPTOMS
========
 
When you select the "How I'm Doing on My Budget" report, you may receive two
consecutive error messages:
 
   There has been an error reading or writing the file "."
 
When you click OK, you receive the second error message:
 
   Not enough memory is available. If you have several applications open at the
   same time, you might need to close one of them before starting Money.
 
When you click OK on this second error message, you are left with a completely
blank report.
 
CAUSE
=====
 
These error messages occur when the following conditions are true:
 
 - You assign a budget amount to categories without assigned subcategories in
   the Budget area.
 
-and-
 
 - There are no transactions in the Account Register that use any of the
   categories that have budget amounts assigned to them.
 
RESOLUTION
==========
 
To resolve these error messages, you need to assign subcategories to all
categories that use budget amounts or the transactions recorded in the Account
Register, and then run the "How I'm Doing on My Budget" report.
 
MORE INFORMATION
================
 
You may experience this problem if you have deleted all the subcategories that
have been pre-setup in Money, intending to develop a working budget for
observing your spending habits.
 
Or, if you have recently converted from Quicken, you may not be accustomed to
entering subcategories for your transactions.
