The information in this article applies to:

 - Microsoft Liquid Motion for Windows 1.0
-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

SYMPTOMS
========

When you attempt to publish your animation to an FTP server, you may receive the
following FTP error:

   Unable to upload file: C:\Program Files\Microsoft Liquid Motion
   \lib\upload\MyAnimation.jcz.

   Error Reported: Can't build data connection: No route to host.

   Do you wish to continue to upload the other files?

If you click Yes or Yes To All, you receive the same message for other files.

CAUSE
=====

Liquid Motion cannot publish an animation to an FTP server through a firewall
(proxy server).

RESOLUTION
==========

To work around this behavior, use one of the following methods.

Method 1: Use Microsoft FrontPage to Publish Your Animation
-----------------------------------------------------------

1. Publish your animation to a FrontPage Web.

   For more information about publishing an animation to a FrontPage Web, click
   the Index tab in Liquid Motion Help, type the following text

   " FrontPage Web
   " (without the quotation marks)

   and then double-click the selected text to go to the "Publishing Animations to
   a FrontPage Web" topic.

2. Publish your FrontPage Web to the FTP server.

   For additional information, please see the following article(s) in the
   Microsoft Knowledge Base:

   Q181127 FP: How to Publish Your Web to a Server w/o FrontPage Extensions

Method 2: Use Another FTP Application to Publish Your Animation
---------------------------------------------------------------

Some third-party FTP applications allow you to publish through a proxy server or
firewall. Publish your animation to a disk location before you publish the
contents of that disk location using a third party FTP application.

For more information about publishing your animation to a local disk, click the
Index tab in Liquid Motion Help, type the following text

   " publishing animations " (without the quotation marks)

and then double-click the selected text to go to the "Publishing an Animation to
a Local Disk" topic.
