SYMPTOMS
========

When you create a Monthly Cash Flow report (under Spending Habits), or
another report in the Reports & Chart Gallery that uses investment
information, you may notice that this report refreshes at regular intervals
(generally every five minutes).

Additionally, if the report takes longer than this to generate, you may
never get to view the report.

CAUSE
=====

This problem can occur when you configure Money to automatically update
your personal investment accounts portfolio using MSN Investor.

Additionally, on some computers with slower processors or limited amounts
of random access memory (RAM), you may never get to actually view the
report. On such a computer, the report may take longer to produce than the
interval at which Investor recalculates your portfolio's value. Therefore,
the report is regenerated before it actually has a chance to appear on your
screen.

WORKAROUND
==========

To work around this problem, unlink your Money file from Investor.

Unlinking Investor from a Money Account
---------------------------------------

1. Open Investor. To do this, click Investments on the Microsoft
   Money navigation bar. In the left pane, click Microsoft Investor (in
   Money 99), or click Investor.msn.com (in Money 98), and then click the
   Microsoft Investor hyperlink.

2. In Investor, click Portfolio Manager.

3. Right-click the investment account that you want to unlink from
   Microsoft Money, and then click Delete on the shortcut menu.

4. Click Unlink when you are prompted with the following message:

      Are you sure you want to delete this account? Selecting Delete will
      only delete the account in Microsoft Investor. The account will still
      exist in Microsoft Money.

Select Unlink if you wish to stop receiving automatic updates from
Microsoft Money for this account.

STATUS
======

Microsoft has confirmed this to be a problem in the Microsoft products
listed at the beginning of this article.
