SYMPTOMS
========

A scene containing Trim NURBS elements with modeling relations is loaded
over another scene that contains Trim NURBS with modeling relations. The
Trim NURBS elements in each respective scene are part of the same hierarchy
and when the hierarchy is translated, the modeling relations are lost.

CAUSE
=====

The Trim NURBS elements with modeling relations were part of the same
hierarchy; this is considered an illegal operation in SOFTIMAGE 3D. When
there is a modeling relation involved, you cannot include the Trim curve,
the original Trim surface, or the Trim result in the same hierarchy or
branch.

RESOLUTION
==========

Leave both the Trim curve and the original Trim surface at the default
0,0,0 world coordinates (the modeling relation is Global and not Local).
Now you can select the Trim result only, and when you transform the Trim
result, the modeling relations are not lost. You can then load a second
scene containing Trim NURBS with modeling relations. As long as you respect
the conditions listed above, you will not lose the modeling relations in
your scene. The Trim results can also become children of other branches or
hierarchies without causing problems.
