SUMMARY
=======

On Windows NT, only .pic sequences are supported in Rotoscope because
Windows NT does not have the SGI media libraries (for more information, see
page 32 of SOFTIMAGE 3D Release Notes version 3.7 SP1).

Although the .avi format is not supported on the Windows NT (version 3.7
SP1) version of Rotoscope, you may be successful if you use an .avi file
that is the result of a "soft2avi" conversion. To boot, use the "Microsoft
video 1" compression format in the soft2avi setup GUI. If you know the .avi
sequence and step value in the Rotoscope Wire/Shade dialog box, you can
edit the "Playback Options> Play Sequence" fields to reflect the start-end-
step sequence of your .avi file. As yet, there is no conclusive data
regarding an .avi file generated from a different source.
